Shaw Trust is a national charity that provides training and work opportunities for people who are disadvantaged in the labour market due to disability, ill health or other social circumstances. We are the largest UK provider of employment services for disabled people.




VOLUNTARY ACTION CALDERDALE www.cvac.org.uk Voluntary Action Calderdale is the Local Infrastructure Organisation, providing development and infrastructure support to Voluntary & Community groups in Calderdale. VAC offers groups and individuals practical help around volunteering, getting organised, funding, and much more.




UPPER VALLEY WOMEN'S GROUP www.uppervalleywomensgroup.com

The Upper Valley Women's Group runs a friendly drop-in for women every Thursday morning 10 - 1.00 at Todmorden Children's Centre, Todmorden College. Support, friendship and activities for women from any area of the community. Free creche available.




ACTION HALIFAX www.actionhalifax.org.uk

Action Halifax is a regeneration partnership that is dedicated to making social, economic and environmental improvements to Halifax town centre and surrounding communities. We provide funding to projects with monies from the Government's Single Regeneration Budget, the European Commission's URBAN II Program and the Home Office's Community Cohesion Fund.




STREET ANGELS www.streetangels.org.uk

Street Angels are in operation each Friday and Saturday night and is run by Churches Together in Halifax and Halifax YMCA. Teams of Street Angels walk the streets of the town centre looking out for people, assisting with those who have become vulnerable, directing people to clubs or taxis, and generally making the town centre a safer place.

ELLAND SILVER BAND www.ellandsilverband.contactbox.co.uk

The training band has 20 members aged from 7 upwards. Anyone of any standard or ability is welcome to come along to the training band. Players do not have to read music or have played an instrument before.

The Carers Project exists for the benefit of all adults who care in Calderdale, whether they are caring for an adult or child, friend or neighbour, offering support groups and advice, a listening ear, and much more.

Making Space exists to help all those affected by schizophrenia and other forms of serious and enduring mental illness.

Calder Dads is a support group for split families in Calderdale. There are monthly social meetings for Dads and the best interests and well-being of the kids is the paramount concern of our members.

Aiming to provide sporting facilities in Rastrick, of a high standard, for children attending local schools and the whole community. Subsequently to support sustainable managment of all sporting activites in the Rastrick area.

Richmond Fellowship is a national mental health charity. In Calderdale, RF's Moor View is a care home with nursing for adults with severe and enduring mental health problems.




CITIZEN'S ADVICE BUREAU www.calderdalecab.org.uk

The CAB can work with you to sort out any debt worries, benefits, housing and employment problems, or deal with queries about consumer or tax issues. We can advise on legal matters, answer questions about immigration, and we have lots of experience on family and personal matters too.




HALIFAX YMCA www.halifaxymca.com

YMCA offers a wide range of activities and training designed to help people develop in body, mind and spirit, in a friendly and supportive environment.




SCOPE IN CALDERDALE www.scope.org.uk

Scope's services are for people with cerebral palsy, their families and carers. They focus on those areas where disabled people face inequalities. In Calderdale, they run a community outreach service, which provides quality training and support to adults with physical, learning and acquired impairments.




DODNAZE COMMUNITY CENTRE www.dodnaze.org T

he Dodnaze Community Association was set up in 2001 in order to provide opportunities and activities for the residents of Dodnaze and the surrounding hillside. The Centre offers a range of activities for local residents and people from the wider community.
