Following the review of the CYPMG and its terms and reference and membership, there is one VCS seat available at the board. The board will now be known as the Chidren and young Peoples Partnership. Any interested parties should forward an expression of interest to the C &YP Network. Any individuals that have previously expressed an interest need not send another form as they will be included in this round. As there is likely to be a number of intereted parties this role will go out to vote.

Are we There Yet (Audit Commission Report) There was a short exercise using the Children's Trust self-assessment tool, if people would like a copy of the tool or the 'Are we there yet' report please contact the network development team.
CYP Plan 08 -11 -Should there be an additional Staying Safe Priority for disabled children? Any comments/views please forward to one of the CYPB representatives.
Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) - Sue Rumbold went through the JSNA asking Board members to give feedback the closing date for this dialogue is the 30th November anyone wishing to feed into this document should visit www.calderdale.gov.uk/socialcare/social-services/jsna/index.html
MyPlace - Rob Billson and David McQuillian presented the MyPlace bid, which was very positively received by the Board.

October 2008
Youth Council elections take place on Thursday 16th October 2008 in Calderdale. results will be presented from 18:00 in the Town Hall. Carol White will make a presentation at 18:45. The elections are for local and national representation.

Workforce Development Strategy delay due to recruitment. Karen Muscat_Baron now appointed and taking this forward.
CYP Plan 08-1; Summary version will be out in September
Child Sexual Expoitation (CSE) Co-ordinator funded from Connexions grant. Need to assist children to recognise their need for health and support. Next step is to provide a service that children can access themselves.
Specification for expressions of interest to be developed. Mandate for JCG to take this work forward, specifically to
> Focus on a Third Sector provider
>Develop service specification
>Investigate procurement options
>Report back to CYPMG
MYPlace Carol Stone- Government initiative for capital to build a world class youth facility in Calderdale. Lead partner for bid from Third Sector. Expressions of interest were requested. Shortlist of potential projects, done in conjunction with partners and young people.
